The new Learning management system (LMS) is built on an upgraded version of the JUNO database. This means that some features of the new courses don’t work with the rest of the platform at this time, while it is still on the existing database. This causes some known limitations:

  • Can't recommend new courses based on user interest tags from the existing database. This is because existing tags don’t sync to the new database.

  • Can’t pull new courses into rotator/grid modules on existing site pages (except for the new course catalog page). The workaround for this is to link to courses from other places, like on-demand content.

  • The only analytics for new courses are the Reports described above. Analytics reports pulled from the existing platform don’t include data from the new courses. This is because the new database analytics don't sync to the existing database. But note that the data is not lost; It is stored in the new database (with the exception of resource downloads). The ability to get this data is a feature on the roadmap.

Note that these features do work:

  • Gamification points for actions on the new courses do contribute to your existing leaderboard. The points are sent to and stored in the existing database.

  • No labels
