Clients

Reader goal

Understand what content looks like, what all the parts of it are. New clients are interested in this; they don’t understand what a “session” really is made up of, or the demo sites they’ve seen aren’t necessarily configured with everything. This is place to find a generic outline of how it all fits together.

Quickly find image sizes, character limits, and file types.

CSMs want to be able to find an example quickly-- when someone asks “what’s an abstract,” they don’t have to go hunting for an example in the site structure workbook, or on a demo site, where it may or may not be there.

CSMs want to be able to send clients a page based on content type – because not everyone uses every content type, especially with learning/community -only sites.

Notes for reviewers

Each session or in-person session needs these images and text. Some other items are optional, like videos and files.

Where content is located

Before users open a session page, they might see the session in a module. It displays the session’s image, name and abstract. Most modules use the smaller list image. Featured rotators use the larger banner image.

The schedule page is another place users find sessions. It displays the session’s name and abstract, without the image.

Then users enter the session page. When it’s Past or Upcoming, the page displays an image, description, and any attached speakers and sponsors. The abstract isn’t displayed here.

When a session is Live, there is no image. The rest of the information displays at the bottom of the page.
