Creating and Importing SCORM Courses
Introduction
Creating and importing SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Material) courses in JUNO is essential for a standardized and seamless e-learning experience. This guide will walk you through creating and importing SCORM courses, ensuring compatibility and consistency across various Learning Management Systems (LMSs) and authoring tools.
Das Admin and SCORM Courses
Accessing Das Admin
Log in to Das Admin using your admin credentials.
Select Create a Course to initiate the course creation process.
Course creation Type
Give your course a Title (this will be updated once the SCORM file finished uploading)
the Slug is automatically generated from the title
From the Course Type dropdown, choose Learning Package.
Once you have selected Learning Package, new options will appear.
You can browse your device and select a SCORM Package for upload.
Once you have selected the proper file, a new window will prompt you for confirmation of your upload.
File Confirmation:
You can select Upload or Cancel in the File Confirmation window
Once Upload is selected, the File Confirmation window closes, the file auto-generates a URL, and the Save button becomes available in the Create a Course window.
Course creation completion:
Select the Save button to complete the Learning package Upload
The file upload will continue in the background and once it completed the course title will update to the learning package name.
Importing a SCORM Course
Accessing Importer Tool:
Log in to JUNO’s Importer Tool with your admin credentials.
Ensure you have the SCORM file URL or Learning Package File URL ready.
Importer Configuration:
Select the appropriate column header in the Importer Tool, such as the Learning Package File URL.
Provide the URL of the SCORM file you want to import.
Error Handling:
Access the Error Log column to download the error log file if errors occur during the import process.
Review the errors, resolve them, and re-import the affected rows for successful import.
Creating a SCORM Course via FET
Accessing FET:
Log in to FET using your administrator credentials.
Navigate to the SCORM course creation section.
Course Setup:
Choose the option to Create New SCORM Course in FET.
Provide essential course details such as title, description, and metadata to establish the course structure.
Uploading SCORM Content:
Use FET’s intuitive interface to upload the SCORM package directly from your local device.
Verify successful upload and ensure that the SCORM package is intact and compliant with the necessary standards.
Configuration and Customization:
Configure course settings, access permissions, and user interaction options.
Customize the user interface to match your organization's branding and design preferences.
