Notes for reviewers

I originally mentioned these breakouts to be a part of what tech support goes over with speakers/moderators in the greenrooms. There is also a bug with the breakouts using the mod function with 1.15, so that’s why I put 1.15 as the version, but this bug may be fixed with 1.16! It is logged in Jira; no progress yet.

About this template

The sections below are divided into three types: Explanation, How-to, and Reference. Use them to help you organize your page.

You can create multiple sections with any combination of types in any order. For example, a page might be made up of one explanation section and three how-to sections. Or it might be made up of only reference sections.

Why do we do this? Because giving each section a specific purpose helps readers scan for information. And it helps future writers know where to add new information!

Tip: If you aren't sure where to begin, just write down everything you want to say about a topic. Then you can separate it into Explanation, How-to, and Reference and create sections with headings.

How to uses the moderator function to send attendees to random breakouts and what to do if they do not function properly.

How to send attendees to random breakouts using the moderator function.

  2. Click ‘Moderate’

  3. Enter a ‘Breakout Duration (minutes)’ - This is how long the breakouts will last

  4. Enter a ‘Room Capacity’ - This is how many attendees will be put into each room before creating another

  5. Select either ‘Prioritize by Tags’ or ‘Assign Randomly’

What to do if multiple breakout rooms only have one person.

  1. Navigate to one of the breakout rooms with only one person

  2. Copy the URL from that room

  3. Paste the URL into chat in another room with only one person
