in the upper right corner of any platform page. By clicking on the lightning bolt icon, a popup window will appear showing the top three attendees on the leaderboard.
Points can be earned by performing certain actions around the site. Each action can only be performed once per piece of content to receive points, encouraging attendees to engage on the leaderboard. This type of gamification encourages them to keep engaging with your platform. You can decide which actions and activities are worth points and create contests.
Earning points
Earn points by performing actions and activities around the site. You know when you’ve earned points because an animation plays in the top-right corner of the screen by your profile picture.

If you perform the same action twice on the same piece of content, you only earn points the first time. For example, when you send a chat message in a session, you gain points. But when you send a second chat message in the same session, you don’t earn anything. This means you should interact with as many pieces of content as possible for the maximum number of points. For example, an attendee can only earn points once per session for using an emoji. Once an action is performed, an attendee’s score will update, seen to the right of the lightening bolt icon in the upper right corner of any platform page. See the table below for a list of actions and their explanations.
Multipliers
Multipliers can be used to assign a higher weight of points for certain content. For example, you may choose to add a multiplier to higher tiered exhibitors, making actions on those pages worth more points that other exhibitors. Multipliers on any piece of content multiply all the actions on a particular piece of content by the integer of the multiplier. This means that if there is a 2x multiplier on a specific exhibitor, each points-gaining action (i.e., answering questions, clicking “Favorite”, clicking “Complete”, etc.) will earn double the amount of points per action.
Similarly, if there is a 5x multiplier on a session, each points-gaining action - such as using an emoji or commenting in the chat - will earn 5x the amount of points per action. Remember, though, actions can only earn points once per piece of content.
Setting Up Gamification
Point values can be designated by your team. In order to set your gamification structure, use the Gamification Template your Client Success Manager puts on Basecamp. This template allows you to designate the value of each action offered as well as specify pieces of content that will have multiplier tags on them.

The leaderboard
The leaderboard includes two tabs:
The individual standings feature the top 3 users with the most points. Then all users are listed below that, in ranked order.
The team standings show groups in ranked order. A group’s points are the sum of its users' points.
At any time, you can reset the leaderboard to return everyone’s points to zero. For example, if you host a new contest each day during an event, you might announce a winner in the evening before resetting for the next day.
Note that resetting points does not reset the actions. If a user performed an action on a piece of content on day 1, they can’t earn points again on day 2 for that same action on that same piece of content.

Points multipliers
Normally, the same action is worth the same number of points no matter where it is on the site. But with points multiplier tags, you can make specific pieces of content worth more points. Add a points multiplier to any content page that you want to encourage people to interact with.
For example, if you add a x2
tag to higher-tier exhibitors, theactions on those pages are worth twice as many points as theactions on other exhibitor pages. If you add a x4
tag, the actions are worth four times as many points.
Points multiplier tags go as high as x10

Create contests
One reason people enjoy gamification is the opportunity to earn prizes! . If it suits your conferenceplatform, organize prizes that can to be sent to attendees post-conference for the leaders on the the winners of your leaderboard.
With every contest comes rules. Think about the rules you’d like to apply to this rules you might create for a contest:
How many prizes do can you have to give away?
Would you like to reset the leaderboard at any point during your conference? If so, when would you like it reset?
Who is eligible to earn prizes?
These rules should be listed out We recommend explaining these rules on an FAQ page on your site for attendees to find. You can include a Game/Contest section on your FAQ page, or if the contest is detailed . Or if there’s a lot to explain, you can dedicate a page on the site for the game. You can list this page in the navigation or link to it from a billboard or banner on the sitecontest information.
A visual of the prize(s) can be put in a featured rotator or a billboard rotator to give users even more incentive to attendees to participate. You can also remind attendees them to engage with content through push global notifications at any point during the event.
Reset the leaderboard for contests
If you do decide to reset the leaderboard during the event, choose a certain time each day and let your Client JUNO Success Manager know that time. You will need to take note of the top scorers to be able to look up contact information. Before it resets, write down the top users. It’s best to note the top 5-10 people listed on the leaderboard , just in case someone has won before or is not isn’t eligible to win. Once you have the list of names, you can Then look up the winners' email addresses in the registration information to contact the winners and organize the and contact them to organize prize delivery.
